Notary Fees

Most notarial acts carry a fee of $10, but in less common or more complex situations, fees vary. Below are the fees set forth by Texas Government Code 4.A.406.024.

Acknowledgements

Taking the acknowledgment or proof of a deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate and seal, first signature $10
Each additional signature $1

Jurats

Administering an oath or affirmation with certificate and seal $10

Depositions

Taking the deposition of a witness, each 100 words $1
Swearing a witness to a deposition, certificate, seal, and other business connected with taking the deposition $10

Protests

Protesting a bill or note for nonacceptance or nonpayment, register and seal $4
Each notice of protest $1
Protesting in all other cases $4
Certificate and seal to a protest $4

Copies

Certificate under seal not otherwise provided for $10
Copy of a record or paper in the notary public’s office, each page $1

Other

Notarial act not provided for $10

Travel Fees

Travel fees are set by zip code and start as low as $10. Enter a zip code below to find your fee. I even take appointments in or near my home office during regular business hours.


Other Fees

Loan Signing Fee

For a limited time, all loan signing appointments carry a fee of $50 plus travel and appointment fees.

Appointment Fee

Each appointment has a base fee of $10. This is nonrefundable in the case of appointment cancellation.

Extended Appointment Fee

For appointments that extend past 30 minutes, there is a charge of $15 for each additional half hour. In other words, a 1–30-minute appointment does not carry this fee, but the extended fee for appointments 31–60 minutes is $15. The fee is $30 for 61–90 minutes, and so on.
